Like the machine-gun toting illegal immigrant who shot a deputy sheriff in the stomach in Arizona on Friday afternoon.
"It's a bad law,'' City Council President Mike Ross told me this morning. He is helping Arroyo craft a resolution that would identify any city money being spent on Arizona commerce.
Arroyo has argued that the law will lead to racial profiling - which is outlandish. It will lead to getting rid of the five drug smugglers in Arizona who left a deputy sheriff wounded after a gun battle that lasted nearly ten minutes. What is wrong with wanting to make sure citizens are protected - which Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona has made abundantly clear is the spirit of the law.
Until Felix Arroyo and Mike Ross can do something about the graffitti that has become a scourge in the city or the drug dealers peddling poison outside of the Theater District they should stay out of what is happening in Arizona.
